Michigan Tool and Die Michigan

Continental Tooling Concepts (CTC) provides stamping and metal forming simulation services using PamStamp 2G. We provide fully incremental multistage simulations to verify formability, blank size, and spring back, enabling the die design to be fully verified prior to cutting any steels. We also provide quick incremental or single stage inverse simulations that help with decision making processes early in a project. Some of the benefits of simulation are: less tryout time, less re-cutting/re-working of die stations, smoother work flow due to a more directional die-build process, less over-designing of nitrogen systems, etc… We are knowledgeable in simulating complex die functions with multiple forming stations, difficult trim developments, aerial cam forms, half up/down draws, opposing pads, stretch webs, etc…

Simulation software is a tool that can be used to produce quality results which accurately predict very complex forming modes. However... it can also be misused to a point where the predictions are not accurate and or do not reflect attainable inputs in the real world. At CTC we believe that you have to have a person who is very knowledgeable in stamping dies, and is sharp enough to understand the inherent risks of simulating in a virtual world in order to expect accurate results. A great die-trouble-shooter combined with a very accurate simulation algorithm can produce simulation results that are extremely accurate and save thousands on the shop floor. As is true in die design, the talent of the individual(s) involved will separate the good from the great simulations. That’s why we seek out and train talented people for simulation.
